Lagos, Eko, Lasgidi or Lag...the city with so many names is the commercial capital of Nigeria. Nigeria’s largest city (in terms of population) but smallest in land mass, sprawls inland from the Gulf of Guinea across Lagos Lagoon.
Lagos boasts of its industries, commercial settlements, relaxation spots and night life as the city that never sleeps. The Green Africa Headquarters is in Lagos making it the first point of take-off for our aircraft.
The international airport serving the state is Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) and it is located in Ikeja, Lagos State, the city capital.
Other airports close to Lagos are; Cotonou airport, Ibadan airport and the Akure airport.
Name Origin: Lagos was named by Portuguese explorer, so it is not clear if he named the city after Lagos in Portugal or simply because it is surrounded by lakes. Lakes in Portuguese is Lagos....guess we never can tell which it is.
